Breaking Barriers: Championing Inclusion and Female Leadership in South Korea

Yesterday, we had the privilege of participating in an inspiring conversation on inclusion, allyship, and well-being at the House of Lords, alongside the second cohort of the women’s empowerment programme designed and delivered by the British Chamber of Commerce in Korea (BCCK).

The event brought together an exceptional group of women who are driving change in South Korea—a country where female leadership has historically been underrepresented. Hearing their unique stories and the challenges they are overcoming, whether building female-led start-ups or rising through the corporate ranks, was truly humbling. Their determination to challenge stereotypical norms and pave the way for future generations is both inspiring and necessary.

Celebrating Trailblazers

A heartfelt thank you to Jiu Park, Eunkyoung L., Claudia Hyun, Sunny Kim, Jiwon Min, Dino Lee, and all the delegates who shared their journeys. Your courage and commitment to driving gender equality is making a real difference—not only in South Korea but also on a global scale. To those we didn’t have the chance to meet, we would love to connect with you.

Kudos to Lucinda Walker, Elspeth Stewart, and Tony Clemson for designing and delivering such a powerful and impactful initiative. Your dedication to fostering empowerment, inclusion, and leadership is creating lasting change.

We were also honoured to hear from a distinguished panel, including Barry Hooper FWCC, FCIPS, MCIM, Radhika Nayar, Amrit S Maan OBE FRSA 🇺🇦, and the remarkable Baroness Sandy Verma. Their insights on the importance of diverse leadership, meaningful allyship, and inclusive business practices added valuable perspectives to the conversation.

A Call to Action

As we reflect on the discussions, it’s clear that while significant progress has been made, there is still work to be done. Inclusion and allyship are not just buzzwords, they are the foundation of meaningful and lasting change. By championing women’s empowerment and creating spaces for diverse voices, we can drive forward a more equitable and inclusive future.

We are grateful to have been part of this important dialogue and look forward to continuing to support and collaborate with those leading the way.
