We’re incredibly proud to share that Mark Freed and Gary Ford have been appointed as Ambassadors for the WUN – Women’s Utilities Network.
WUN is an organisation we hold in very high regard. It does far more than support women to build successful careers across the utilities sector – it is a driving force for developing better leaders, stronger teams and more inclusive organisations across the industry.
Both Mark and Gary have seen WUN’s impact up close. From the integrity of its leadership to the quality of its programmes and the strength of its community, WUN consistently demonstrates what meaningful, action-led inclusion looks like in practice.
As Gary shared on the announcement:
“The WUN – Women’s Utilities Network is an organisation that not only helps women build better careers across the utilities sector, it is a driving force for building better leaders, teams and organisations wherever you work. I have seen their amazing work up close and I am consistently impressed with their passion, integrity and commitment to excellence. I am deeply honoured to support their work in whatever way I can.”
Ambassadors play a vital role within WUN – advocating for the network, encouraging organisations and individuals to engage and helping to drive cultural change across the utilities sector. That mission aligns closely with our own work at Men for Inclusion: engaging people who are often missing from the conversation and supporting leaders to build cultures where everyone can thrive.
Mark also reflected on what the role means to him personally:
“Becoming an ambassador for the WUN – Women’s Utilities Network is a privilege I’m truly honoured to hold. To me, WUN represents more than a professional network, it’s a thriving community committed to empowering women across the utilities sector to connect, grow and lead with confidence. In an industry where women remain under-represented at all levels, WUN’s mission to support, develop and encourage one another is both inspiring and essential.”
He added:
“I’m passionate about championing gender inclusion and helping create environments where women can build fulfilling and rewarding careers in inclusive cultures. As an ambassador, I’m proud to contribute to a movement that enables women to join, stay and thrive in utilities and to help shape a stronger, more successful industry.”
At Men for Inclusion, we firmly believe that progress accelerates when organisations, networks and leaders work together with shared intent. We’re delighted to deepen our relationship with WUN and to support its mission in this ambassador role.
We look forward to continuing the work – learning, challenging, collaborating and helping to build inclusive leadership and cultures across the utilities sector and beyond.
