Women’s Energy Network Alliance
The Women’s Energy Network Alliance (WENA) brings together networks and associations representing women across various parts of the energy sector, from oil and gas, to nuclear, to electricity networks, renewable energy and district heating.
The Women’s Energy Network Alliance comprises 9 organisations representing over 350,000 women working in energy-related industries in the UK. They are an umbrella of a variety of initiatives and member organisations each specialising in different career levels, sub-sectors or disciplines – from championing STEM outreach for girls to advancing women to board level, or from a focus on engineering or renewables and nuclear, to covering the energy sector as a whole.
But they have one common mission – to support women’s careers and make faster progress on female representation in the UK energy industry. Their membership consists of: POWERful Women, Lean in Equity & Sustainability, Women in Nuclear, the Women’s Engineering Society, ReWiRE, District Heating Divas and ALLY Energy.
Each member is committed to sharing best practice and collaborating to support the entirety of the female energy workforce and their collective motto is “Leave no Woman Behind”
