A thoroughly enjoyable and educational day at the Rewire summit on Wednesday. Thank you to all at Regen, Roadnight Taylor | Certified B Corp™, National Grid and the hashtagWiNG employee resource group for pulling it all together and also to Osborne Clarke for hosting.
A few highlights for me:
⚡ I particularly liked Emily Bourne‘s ideas around how kindness can be a core competency along side being a decisive leader who gets stuff done.
⚡ A really thought provoking panel discussion with Rhian Kelly, Georgina M., Cordi O’Hara OBE FEI and Amy Mount on how to lead with purpose, compassion, agility whilst managing your own boundaries and your broader life priorities. Their humility and willingness as leaders to share their vulnerability is to be applauded.
⚡ Being part of great conversation on inclusive leadership where Jo Butlin OBE threw us the curveball “how does it feel to be the only man in the room” question. Kudos to Tom Glover and Merlin Hyman OBE for not only handling it with aplomb, but providing their own leadership wisdom on such a key conversation
⚡ The opportunity for some self-reflection with Pamela Taylor helping us manage our inner critic
⚡ Fabulous insight from Kayte O’Neill & Dan McGrail on how to lead a new organisation with both a values-led and a team-first ethic as the core components of their leadership approach
⚡ An amazing job by Jo Butlin OBE (again) and Maria Blakley on the importance of non-exec directors and how we need to inspire future generations (especially women) to bring their very necessary perspectives and expertise to the boardrooms of the future (if not today)
Well done to Rachel Hayes, Felicity Vivian, Laura Henry and the whole team to bring together such a brilliant event.
