
I’m delighted to have a new piece published in Offshore Energies Magazine by Offshore Energies UK.
In “Powering Up Inclusion: The Energy Sector’s Most Underused Asset,” I explore a simple but often overlooked idea: as the energy sector invests billions in new technologies to deliver the transition, we’re still underutilising one of our most powerful resources: inclusion.
Diversity brings talent into the room. Equity gives it a seat at the table. Inclusion ensures every voice is seen, heard and valued.
Drawing on lived experiences from across the industry – from offshore sites to post-merger organisations – I look at why skills shortages, retention challenges and innovation gaps are often inclusion problems rather than diversity problems.
I also share practical actions leaders can take today: from changing meeting cultures and distributing opportunities fairly, to building inclusive leadership capability and engaging everyone.
As the energy transition accelerates, creating cultures where everyone can contribute fully is absolutely essential.
