Inclusive Leadership in Construction: Why Change Starts With You

Last Thursday I had the privilege of spending the day with a fantastic group of leaders from across the construction industry, brought together by the Construction Inclusion Coalition (CIC).

The focus? Inclusive Leadership.

CIC’s powerful message – “Inclusion Starts With You” – couldn’t be more aligned with the work we’re doing at Men for Inclusion. Because real change doesn’t start with policies or statements… it starts with individual leaders choosing to lead inclusively.

Across the day, we had open, honest conversations about:

What truly inclusive workplaces look like
The role leaders play in shaping culture
How we create environments where everyone can thrive

What stood out most was the shared commitment in the room. Not just to support underrepresented talent, but to recognise that inclusion benefits everyone – the majority and the minority alike.

Inclusive leaders don’t just talk about change.
They create the conditions for it.
