You know that feeling the morning of a big day — running through everything that might go wrong?
Fluffing your lines, tech or logistics falling apart, no one turning up to your breakout session, or your co-presenter stuck in a traffic jam…
That was my Thursday morning.
Well — almost. Because none of that happened. In fact, it turned out to be a brilliant day.
It started in Aberdeen at the Women in New Energy conference, where Men for Inclusion were proud to be a co-sponsor. Stacey Will and I ran a breakout session exploring how we engage men in inclusion — and judging by the buzz in the room (and kind words like Beth Towsey’s:
“The session could have been several hours longer and still kept us all totally engaged!” — I think we hit the mark.
Then onto a stunning train ride through Scotland — Aberdeen to Glasgow (what a country!) — to speak at the Hunter Adams hashtag DisruptHR event.
The format? 5 minutes. 20 slides. Auto-forwarding every 15 seconds.
Nerve-wracking? Absolutely.
But I loved the challenge of sharing why inclusive leaders don’t just coach quiet voices to speak louder — they change how the meeting is run.
Big thanks to Stacey — brilliant to do this all with you.
Two events, one day, one mission: Inclusion. Let’s keep going.
Slept well last night.
