IWD 2025: Mark speaks at Gas Networks Ireland Event

Two songs played on the canteen radio as we set up for the International Women’s Day event at Gas Networks Ireland:

🎶 “We Don’t Need Another Hero”
🎶 “Where Have All the Good Men Gone”

And then… the colleagues arrived.
A packed room of people coming together to celebrate and recognise IWD—and at least a third of them were men.

Not heroes. Just good men.

Men who understand that IWD isn’t just about supporting women, it’s about standing up for gender equality and recognising its benefits everyone.

In the afternoon, I ran a workshop for senior leaders, and those songs echoed in my mind again.

A reminder that creating real change is about everyday actions, shared responsibility, and the good people who show up.
