Mark Freed Speaking at Women in New Energy Event 2026: Diversity and Inclusion Beyond the Payroll

Loved attending the Women in New Energy by Energy Voice Conference in Aberdeen today not only exhibiting and reconnecting with so many familiar faces, but also making a whole host of new friends.

A particular highlight was stepping onto new ground by co-facilitating a workshop with Marcus Kenny on “Diversity and Inclusion Beyond the Payroll.”
As organisations increasingly rely on contingent workers, contractors and consultants, important questions emerge:

🔹 How do we ensure our contingent workforce is diverse?
🔹 How do we share our values, ambitions and inclusion objectives with colleagues who may have been engaged primarily on a transactional basis?
🔹 How do we ensure these colleagues are truly included — seen, heard and valued?
🔹 And how do we do all of this while remaining compliant with IR35?

These were the challenges we explored together, and thanks to the fantastic engagement from everyone in the room, we began to uncover some practical answers.

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to such an insightful, thought-provoking and enjoyable day. The energy, openness and willingness to learn from each other was inspiring.

Looking forward to spending the rest of the week with Men for Inclusion clients up here in the Granite City.
