I genuinely can’t wait for Aberdeen in a couple of weeks’ time. The Granite City always brings great conversations, brilliant people and a real passion for the future of energy.
First stop: back to the fantastic P&J Live on 23 June for Women in New Energy by Energy Voice, sponsored by Brookson Legal – (A People2.0 Company).
This year I’ll be teaming up with Marcus Kenny (thanks Emma Lamont, Deborah Bruce, Jillian Jappy for the introduction!) to run a workshop on taking Diversity & Inclusion compliantly beyond the payroll.
Why does this matter? Because on many energy sites, more than 66% of the workforce can be contractors, contingent workers, or outsourced labour. If we only focus inclusion efforts on directly employed staff, we’re missing a huge part of the workforce experience and a huge opportunity to build safer, stronger, innovative, productive, businesses.
If you’re attending, come and join us for what should be a practical, honest and engaging discussion.

Later that week, I’ll also be spending time with a company whose leadership truly understands that diversity and inclusion are not “nice to haves” they are fundamental to delivering on who they are as a business. Combining safe, reliable operations and commercial success with future growth and opportunity simply works better when people feel included, valued and able to contribute fully.
Aberdeen – I’m ready. Looking forward to seeing familiar faces, meeting new people and continuing some important conversations.
